about us.
We speak simply from experience.
Having spent years working for universities we know how confusing and overwhelming the transition to higher education can be.
As part of our work, we have helped hundreds of students navigate their own unique situation and map out their ideal path.
Along the way, we have picked up some vital tips that will maximise your opportunities and we are opening our playbook for YOU!

We're all about simplification. By simplifying the process, we enable informed students and make higher education more accessible.

our story.
"one conversation could have made a world of difference."
Founders Connor and Majella met while working for a university and it was their shared goal of simplifying higher education that started YOURCOMPASS.
They struggled through the process themselves but it wasn't until they were insiders, working for the universities, that they realised they weren't the only ones...

"Being highly motivated in year 11 and 12, I started looking into higher education quite early. I soon realised how confusing the entire process was and that no matter how much of a head start I had, I wouldn't be able to get my head around it all.

The panic began to set in.

I was met with confusion at every step of the way but not having anyone to turn to, I pushed through on my own and managed to receive an offer.
One single offer.
And that was fine. I thought that was how it worked. It wasn't until I started working for the uni that I realised if I had known about application optimisation, I could have received multiple offers, giving me more opportunities to get straight into my dream degree.

"Moving interstate for university seemed like an easy enough process...

Little did I know, UAC only accepted one of the two Year 12 Qualifications on offer in Queensland and unfortunately I was given incorrect advice and chose the wrong one. This meant I had to use an alternative pathway to get into uni.

With the added stress of trying to find another way into uni, I hadn't even thought to investigate scholarships. It wasn't until the second year of my degree that I realised I had been eligible for a First in Family Scholarship worth up to $20,000! But by that stage, it was too late to apply and I missed out.
Had I had access to personalised support and an online 'roadmap' outlining each step I needed to take, my whole life would be different.

The scary thing is, this is just my story, there are over 550,000 students who start uni each year, how many others have taken the longer, harder route to get to where they need to go?"
